Research paper describing the nature of the Hall effect, quantum Hall effect (QHE), Fractional QHE and Integer QHE. Demonstrates the underlying mathematics behind these effects and illustrates their inherent topological nature through a series of proofs and relevant comparisons. Participated in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) Fall at Lawrence Berkeley’s National Laboratory (LBNL). Worked with the Berkeley Nuclear Division at LBNL BELLA Facility to assist with research on the dose simulation for laser plasma accelerated proton beams. Developed a Monte-Carlo simulation via TOPAS MC to understand the scattering effects of proton beams and x-rays that occur during dose calibration and simulation experiments.
